The legend of Robin Hood has fascinated viewers for a long time. A lot of myths and stories have grown around the legend. And a lot of theater and film adaptations.
Prince of Thieves gives yet another take on Robin Hood. Though mostly entertaining, Prince of Thieves is not well scripted, acted or directed. Morgan Freemen is the only actor who does actually give a decent job in the film as Azeem, Robin’s Muslim partner. Kevin Costner clearly attempts at giving a good, dramatic performance as Robin, but he overdoes his role and makes himself look bad instead.
At least the film stays well enough to the legend of Robin, the Englishman who stole from the rich and gave to the poor, hiding out in Sherwood Forest with his noble band of merry men, while the Sheriff of Nottingham came to hunt him and his band down, all the while protecting the love of his life, the Maid Marian.
The main praise of the film needs to come from it's well-done and memorable music score.

Prince of Thieves is not the decisive Robin Hood movie, though it certainly could have no doubt. I even thought so at the beginning of the movie, but afterward it was allowed to slope downhill.
