Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981, PG)

Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first in the Indiana Jones series, is one of the greatest action/adventure movies of all time.  The entire movie is very enjoyable and fun to watch.  It’s unforgettable, and for sure the strongest and best of the Indiana Jones films.
The movie, set in 1936, follows Henry ‘Indiana’ Jones and his quest to find the fabled lost Ark of the Covenant, before Nazi soldiers serving under Hitler can find it and make Germany invincible to rule the world.
Acting’s top notch; script quite well written, and has a little comedy in it.   I can call this one of my favorite movies. The movie wholly deserves to be on a list of the greatest films of all time, even though it probably won’t entirely appeal to those who dislike snakes, spiders and lots of action, but even they will have to admit that it is well done for an action/adventure film and is not clichéd at all.
This is one of Harrison Ford’s best and most important roles undoubtedly.  Steven Spielberg and George Lucas prove to be great collaborators together.
Nevertheless, Raiders of the Lost Ark goes down as one of the greatest action/adventure films ever made, if not the greatest, with the one and only Indiana Jones.
Grade: A
