The makers of Stargate bring you Independence Day, an action sci-fi movie about an alien invasion of Earth. With the aliens here in their giant spaceships and obliterating everything (including literally all of Washington D.C) in their path, a band of humans led by the President of the United States lead a valiant battle to fight back.
Never, and I mean never, is it explained about where the aliens came from, or why they are even here on Earth in the first place, thus meaning that the movie is played out little more than alien sci-fi flick.
Will Smith heads the cast as the main action star, supported by Jeff Goldblum as the nerdy computer geek and Bill Pullman as the President of the United States who leads the human fight for survival. Randy Quaid gives a supporting role for comic relief.
Once the aliens attack and vaporize Washington D.C off of the globe, the humans fight back in what looks like a post-apocalyptic world.
There are no especially good parts in the film, other than if you count the White House getting blown up exhilarating, though it plays out as your usual entertaining action flick.
Grade: C+
Good Movie!
