I felt it was absolutely necessary to post my criteria I use for scoring and reviewing films. I will usually, if not always, refer to this criteria when reviewing a film. When looking at my full reviews as well as my capsule reviews, refer to this criteria if you wish to get a more clear view of my overall thoughts on that particular film:
****: A Complete Masterpiece
***½: an extraordinary attainment, but no masterpiece
***: good though not great; definitely above average
***: good though not great; definitely above average
**½: decisively average flick that holds out on it's own
**: the ups and downs are measured in equal doses
*½: the film's imperfections tend to outweigh it's qualities
*: there’s no moral standard involved at all
½: maybe not quite a failure…
