Monster's Inc (2001, G)

Without a doubt, the Pixar animation studio delivers some of the best animation movies around.  In this case, best refers to the highest quality of animation available, as well as for a high entertainment movie.  All of the Pixar films share one thing in common: all, or most, of their movies have good morale value, are delightfully entertaining and funny, and they are movies that can be enjoyed by adults as well as children.

It's directed by Pete Docter, and co-directed by Lee Unkrich and David Silverman.

Monster's Inc is a good family, Pixar film.  It's not near as visually stunning as Finding Nemo was, which arguably remains Pixar's finest film to date, and as a result, Monster's Inc's brilliance fails to outshine either Finding Nemo or the Toy Story trilogy.

Nevertheless, the characters are all very loveable, the movie is quite funny, entertaining and memorable, and the animation quality is nevertheless superb.  The voice talents, especially of those by John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Steve Buscemi and James Coburn.

As any Pixar movie should be, Monster's Inc is creative and cheerful.  It's a movie that engages the audience, and becomes a Pixar triumph in it's own good right.
